The strength of any POS application should be the ability to grow with your business. And this implies growing with new and additional hardware. A system that can't work without some specific device, has a serious limitation. What would happen if the device were to malfunction?
So it is important that the system is not tied to anything specific (except a computer, of course). You should be able to operate without a cash draw, pole display, card swipe machine, and even printers!

I hope that when you choose your POS application you choose Utillity, but if you are not in the clothing or footwear sectors you may well find another package better suited to your market. Now that's honesty!
