Barcode printers
Setting up a barcode printing operation can be very frustrating, costly, and time-consuming. That said, it does not have to be! Doing a little research beforehand can save a lot of time, money, and stress!
Zebra is probably the market leader when it comes to barcode printing and have the lion's share of the market. They provide label printers that range from small to over A4!
Some are thermal transfer, others are impact of some sort.
The Samsung SRP-770 is way out my favourite barcode printer for POS applications. It is robust, convienent, and Utillity can use it without the driver even being installed!
Factors to consider when printing barcodes is the size of the label and the additional information you would like on the label.
Most printers will allow for the barcode to be printed with a "human readable" section which is great when there is a problem.
Utillity allows you to use just about any stock code - even those used by other suppliers.
Depending on your product range and supply chain characteristics, you may not need to print your own barcodes.
Several clothing and footwear wholesalers have their own registered barcodes and you can use these (on the box/tag already) and do not need to relabel everything.
