POS printers
Also called slip printers, receipt printers, or tillslip pritners here we are talking about the small printers that produce a slip as at point of sale.
Tillslip printers fall basically into two categories: Thermal and non-thermal (impact).
Thermal printers are quiet and need less maintenance, but are more expensive and require thermal roll - a more expensive paper. Thermal tillslips also fade faster or go completly black if left in the sun.
Impact printers by contract are cheaper but require more maintenance. The print quality is "dotty", they use ribbons and normal paper rolls.
Page Cutters can be not available, partial cut, or complete cut. This can be triggered from the software if the cutter is installed. If the cutter is not installed then you need to tear off the slip when the printing is done.
Examples include a wide range of makes and models. The list below is by no means complete - it simply refers to those we prefer.
Epson TM-U220D-613
Epson TM-T88III
Bixolon Samsung Receipt Printer - SRP-275 (my personal favourite, pictured above)
And many others.
